I love nn Tilly, but I'd use it for Matilda (possibly Ottilie). I suppose it works as a nn for Tiger Lily, but I don't like that combo at all - too fantasyish.

I like Tilly as a nn for Matilda. :)

Tilly is so cute as a nn for Matilda. I think it would work as a nn for Tiger Lily too, but then again, I don't see why you'd want to use a nn for that. I've really been liking Tiger Lily lately, btw, but with no nn. :)

I don't even think Tiger Lily is plausible as a real name. :( If you wanted to name a kid something as far-out as Tiger Lily, you probably would not be the type to use a nn that sounds like somebody's colorful 80-year-old houskeeper.

Love, love, love nn Tilly. I use it as a nn for Matilda and Ottilie, but I don't see why it couldn't work very naturally for Tiger Lily.

It works, but I hate it, mostly because it's the name of a very old family member, and as a result, it seems terribly old and harsh to me.

I really dislike the name Tiger Lily, but I suppose Tilly could work as a nn for the name. I do like Tilly, but I think of it as an old American name, 1800ish, which is one of the reasons I like it. If used as a nn for Tiger Lily (which I associate with the horrible rendition of Native Americans in the Disney Film Peter Pan) I think I would really dislike the name Tilly from then on.
