Cohen is rather like naming your son "priest," except that a Cohen is a priest in a religion (namely Judaism) that has gotten the short end of the stick for literally thousands of years. It strikes me as ignorant and vaguely condescending, like naming a child Cherokee or Cheyenne.Array

Could be a family name.Cohen's a pretty common Jewish surname, isn't it? And it's pretty trendy to call your kids first-name family surnames. I don't think it's inherently religious.Or maybe the parents like Leonard Cohen a lot. That's probably a stretch though :)
