But if you're in the U.S., at least, the majority of people would pronounce it shan-TIL-lee. And I'm with Sabrina--reminds me of the song, too.
BTW, my sister had a friend that had a little girl named
Chantelle (she's probably a teenager by now, we haven't seen her since she was a toddler) and my sister called her Chantilly sometimes and sang "Chantilly Lace" to her. I'm not overly fond of
Chantelle but it's much better than Chantilly, either prn., imo.
