Re: Willam
*William is my preference, though as far as all variants go I'd love it if someone else went with Willem. Reminds me of quirky, awesome Willem Dafoe. :-)*I prefer it be used as a full name without a nickname, though I don't have any particular opposition to Will. Bill doesn't bother me either--wonderfully dry on a small child, very usual on a man--though I dislike Billy very much.*William John. Oliver has such an ugly sound to me. I hear "olive" and "liver" in it at the same time, a disgusting concept both food and color-wise.*One of William's upsides is that it goes well with almost anything, IMO. William Alan, William Ethan, and William James all sound good.*William is one of my favorites; I go back and forth between it and Lawrence as my top male name. It's definitely a classic, and I think it's versatile enough that it can sound sweet and boyish to me, but would also be very fitting on a grown man. Can't go wrong with William.
