Top BAs from The Telegraph and The Times.
I’ve combined the 875 BAs that have appeared in The Times and The Telegraph so far this year to make a top ten. It’s obviously not very representative, (or very accurate for that matter – not enough announcements, and I probably missed a couple) but it’s pretty interesting imo.
1. Oliver (25 boys)
2. William
3. Edward
4. George
5. Thomas
6. Charles
7. Alexander / Benjamin / Harry / Henry / James
8. Samuel
9. Frederick / Jack / Rory
10. Charlie / Joshua / Luke / Max (6 boys)
Total with these names = 2131. Emily (15 girls)
2. Olivia
3. Lucy / Matilda
4. Isabella
5. Amelia
6. Ella
7. Grace / Madeleine
8. Elizabeth / Imogen / Charlotte
9. Alice / Daisy / Emma
10. Eleanor / Florence / Georgia / Jemima / Martha / Poppy / Sophie (5 girls)
Total with these names = 173Boys All the names from the official Top Ten for England and Wales appear somewhere apart from Daniel (only appeared in two announcements). Rory is the biggest surprise as it doesn’t even appear in the official Top 100! It’s at 54 in the Scottish list though.Girls Five of the official Top Ten names don’t appear here:
Jessica and Ellie (only one each!)
Ruby and Lily (two)
Chloe (three).
Neither Jemima nor Florence are on the official lists, but both appear here. Isabella looks like it's on the up :(Tomorrow I’ll post some interesting names from those I’ve collected.
Expect another version of this in June! If you want any more info, just ask :)
