My favourite of the ones you've listed is definitely Esme Sunniva. However, I think I prefer Esme Soleil which AET mentioned. I really, really, really love Delilah as a mn for Esme. Esme Delilah is my personal favourite Esme combo.

1. & 2. Well, Esme is a French name. Dutch is a lot closer to French than English, and I had French classes, and I can tell that in France it is pronounced es-MAY. And Esmé is a male name. Esmée or Esmee is the female form of the name. An extra 'e' is often used in French for the female form of a name or word. Aimé and Aimée is the same story. Of course it is possible that this is not the most common pronunciation in the USA, but I don't know about that.
3. I don't think es-mee is legimate, not even in the USA, but again I am not sure.
4. Esme (Esmé) and Esmee (Esmée) are pronounced the same way in France
5. I kind of like Esme Sunniva

I say both as Ez-may. I love this pronounciation - I've never heard it as es-mee, and don't think I like it nearly as much.

1.-4. I always say and have always heard ez-may which I'd assume if the original French pronunciation of Esme (accent over the last E). Perhaps the Esmee spelling could be reasonably pronounced like es-mee but I would generally pronounce either spelling like ez-may. And if you wish to pronounce it like es-mee then I would suggest you spell it like Esmee so that it's pronounce how it looks and is easier for people to grasp.
