I get it. I'm an old bat and Kirk Cameron from Growing Pains immediately came to mind. (I would put a smiling emoticon, but I've lost all my teeth . . . . )
I've always loved the name Kirk. I'm in the U.S. and have parents from Ireland and England, but Scottish history / culture has always attracted me. Plus, as a linguist, the church / kirk / kirke connection is fascinating. (Other words of Norse / German origin hav ethe same k --> ch phenomenon, but I can't think of any off the top of my head.)
