I pronounce it KAR-mee-an though, with a hard "k" sound like in
Chloe and
Charis. How are you saying it? If you pronounce it the same as I do, it might cause confusion, but imo people would quickly get used to the pronunciation.
I like
Lysander, but I don't think it's that usable except as a middle name ... The female form
Lysandra is more usable imo. I love
Helena and
Beatrice. I also like
Hero and
Paris, and while I agree
Hero isn't very usable, I think
Paris is. In fact, it's quite in fashion at the moment for both sexes. (Boys named
Paris are are the rage for new-money Londoners.)
