Lyra
WDYTOT name Lyra? I'm really starting to like it a lot! Do you have any middle names that you like with it?

As my niece's middle name(and almost her first name), I adore it. I love Lyra Sophia and Lyra Amarante. Its quite pretty.Liza

I love Lyra :-) My favorite combos are Lyra Kathleen, Lyra Sylvie, and Lyra Sophie.

Very pretty. I used to pronounce it LEER-a but, however the spelling Lira would work better for that.

I kind of like this name, though not quite as much as I did when I first saw it. And I like the 'look' of it better than the 'sound' of it, if that makes sense. I say LYE-rah, rhymes with Myra, but then the word "lie" sticks out and isn't a great word or a very pretty sound. If it's pronounced like lira, then it's too similar to Italian money. :b I'm pretty sure it's LYE-rah, though.

I think it's pretty, reminds me of the book the Golden Compass by Philip Pullman.

I don't care for it. It's overly frilly for my taste. Anyway, I suggest Lyra Eve.

I like it a lot, pronunced LEER-ah rather than LIE-rah. The second pronunciation just doesn't seem natural to me.Lyra Belphoebe (how's that for over the top?) came to mind first, but that would be utterly unworkable. Lyra Constance? Lyra Miette? Lyra Berenice? Lyra Bethany? I think it could work with a lot of different names.Array
