I think if you use the name for a boy, it has to have the Rene spelling.:)

I believe Norman French was actually a strain of Germanic, though it was probably influenced by various French elements.

A popular French name these days is Olivier. Also Maxime. And hyphenated names are much used-Pierre-Marc, Jean-Luc, Marc-Andre, Louis-Phillippe.

(Uh, heehee, how do you put accents in? I don't know how...)~~The brave may not live forever, but the cautious don't live at all~~

Well, on my computer, all you have to do is hold down the alt/option key while you type the letter that needs an accent. For example, holding down option+e = é. If your keyboard is different from mine, it has something to do with typing in alt+ different numbers for different accents... or something. I'd say just use the symbol/character map in Word. :)Shannon

(It said Rene was a male's name) It doesn't really matter, I think an "older" French name would work better though. (It's set in the Medievel Times)~~The brave may not live forever, but the cautious don't live at all~~

It does make a difference...Renee is feminine--names ending in "ee" in French are feminine. Rene is masculine. I really like both, on their respective genders.I also really like Loic, Edgard, Etienne, Florian, Martin, Philippe, Vincent, Paschal, Quentin, and Raoul (among many others). None of the other names you've listed really grab me, though.Array
