Most Elizabeth's I know go by Lizzy or Liz and I work with a Beth. I know a lot of Bettys and Betsys in the older generations.
Most of the young Elizabeths I know go by Elizabeth, and I have a very close friend, Elisabeth, who goes by Elisabeth and Lizi.
Most of the Katherines I know use their full name. I had one Katherine friend in high school who went by Katie. One of my best friends is a Katherine who usually goes by Katherine, but will tolerate "Kat" from some friends. I just call her Katherine :-)
