American name
What's a good name for an American teenage girl? Sarcastic, witty, a harsh streak? The name has to be distinctively American, yet not common like Samantha, Jennifer etc. Maybe something long that can be shortened to a nick name.

Josephine poped up in my head first. I know it's a little dated, but the nn "Josie" is very teenager-ish to me.

Erica, Michelle, Dawn, Christine, Kristin, Kimberly(Kim), Jessica(Jess, Jessie), Donna, Amanda, Kristy/Krista/Crystal, Dolly, Daisy, Sandra (Sandy), Linda, Rhonda (Ronnie), Amy, Melissa, Tiffany, Stacy, Summer, Virginia (Ginny), Winona.I realize some of these might originally have been derived from another culture (Michelle=French name), but they have become so firmly entrenched in American naming trends that they can be considered American. (There are very few American names that aren't derived from some other culture/religion etc.)
