My real-life name is Miranda!

I would've used "Miranda" as my authentication name, but an apparent one-time poster stole it one month and five days before I registered.
Your authentication name is different from your posting name. Your authentication name may be different from your posting name, but your posting name must always be the same. If you want to change your posting name, fine, but you have to alert us beforehand that you're changing your name and not breaking the rules.
EDIT: Three months. One month and five days. What's the difference?

Well, I suppose you might allow Cliffton (savonarola) to post as Cliffton? (Authenticated my savonarola.) Now I'm going to drop out if this turns into an argument, and I'll have my technic-minded uncle short-wire the computer so he can't use it either.
Yeah, that's how it could work
Cliffton can choose either "Cliffton" or "savonarola" to post with, but not both. It's entirely up to him which name he chooses.
The issue here is that you can't post under multiple names, nothing more.

Well...how could that work? If he chose Cliffton, auth. by savonarola, wouldn't he be using both names? I'm going for a walk, and he's dreaming about pizza, so I'll be back soon.
We already explained that!! As long as he's posting as Cliffton (auth. savonarola) every time then there's no problem.

Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't get that. (I'm back, by the way, and instead of daydreaming about pizza, Cliff is now dreaming about pizza in his sleep, or so I assume.)
Thank you, Chrisell *sighs*
I was busy doing actual on-topic name stuff by typing up a list of girl names for jwalter.

Wow, that must have taken quite a while! I counted 48 names there, excluding those on the right side of the slashes.
Not really, actually
I just typed what came to mind. I also looked over the most popular names list for the US in 2003 for some inspiration.
