I used to really like this for a girl. Harli Jo was the name I liked. Now I think I prefer Harley for a boy.
Maybe you could find a "long" version and use Harley as a nn? I'm not sure what would work, though.

Oh, I was so apprehensive clicking this post, as I was scared you'd be using Harley for a girl. Sorry to be blunt, but Harley is horrible for a girl. It's terribly trendy and not at all feminine or pretty. I don't see the appeal. I don't care for it for a boy, but if the name must be used, then I only prefer it for a boy. Changing the spelling of the name won't do a thing but make it trendier, and it will just cause problems concerning spelling, and maybe even pronunciation. But, if you need to know other spellings, then Harleigh and Harlee come to mind. As for middle names, I'd suggest paring it up with a feminine name: Harley Mae, Harley Jade, and Harley Katherine.I'm sorry if any of this was mean or blunt, but this trend of using masculine names (this site says it's a unisex name, but Harley has really only become popular as of late, with this trend) for girls really is getting to me! Edit: Comment.

Hey! I know one, too!
Hi! When I was in middle school there was a boy named Harley Zarley Davidson. I kid you not. He had a twin brother named Colton, called Colt. I think Harley really got the short end of the stick!

I pretty much agree on everything you've said ...The main reason I don't like it though is because it reminds me of harlot.I would keep to the Harley spelling, I can't think of any nn's but I don't think there is a need for one, maybe Lee / Leigh / Ley as an affectionate name rather than a formal nickname.
