Anne of Green Gables names + pron. question
For many years my favorite book has been "Anne of Green Gables" by Lucy Maud Montgomery, and I equally love the names bestowed on the characters. I would even consider naming a daughter after this book. I love either Anne or Diana, even without the Green Gables connection. Which would you pick, and what are your general thoughts on both names?
Also, does anyone like (or even prefer) the name Marilla? I've always wondered why it isn't used more often - does it sound unattractive? Does it have any negative connotations?
Last but not least I've started to wonder lately how Mrs. Rachel Lynde's last name really is pronounced. lynn-dee? lind? lye-nd?Thanks!
