Abella is indeed not made up. It's a skin care product (Abella Skin Care), and it's from the word Bella in Spanish, it means "bee" in Catalan, and it was an Italian village where the Trojans lived, before doing so in Spain.
But, even with these facts, it's still made up to me. My point is, even a genuine name can still have a made up feel to it, so don't jump to conclusions and think that just because a name doesn't hyperlink on this site, I don't think it's "real."

I was using that as an example of how many people think as a way to get my point across. Ryland isn't in the database, but i'm sure you realize it is a real name.
Btw, the skin care product probably came from the name. Like Sundari. It means "beautiful" in Hindi(I think), but the name is not from the product.
Abella is a name of a town or village in many places including Fance, Italy, and England, but those probably all came from the surname and the surname is a variant of Abel. Look it up.

Here's what I got...
I found that Abella is a town Campagna, Italy. I couldn't find anything for France or England, but I found Inns with the name Abella in it, in France and England, so I probably just scrolled right over it. :)
I found a ton of people with Abella as their surname, but I couldn't find any exact information regarding it as a surname. I did find feminine versions of Abel: Abelia, Abelie, Abella, and Abelle (from www.christianforum.com). On www.weddingvendors.com, I found Abela as the Hawaiian form of Abel, and a variant of Apela. But, those sites probably are not the most reliable.
Hopefully that answered some questions, and didn't make new ones arise! :)
