I met a girl named Jessamine and she pronounced her name...Jasmine. jaz-min. At first I thought I had misheard but everyone else called her Jasmine too. I must've looked confused because she told me her parents were hippies and liked the name Jasmine but not the spelling. When I initially met her I said jes-suh-min.
