Roy.
This name has just become a top favorite. I have an Uncle Roy, short for Royal. He's quite a character. HE plays the saw, scuplts with a chainsaw, and is just generally quite off-beat. I also like the sound of the name, and the aura it gives off. What do you guys think? I know its a bit "red-neck" and an older name, however, I still think its quite cool. Opinions?Siri

I like Roy. It's sweet, and it ages well. I can picture a sweet little boy just as easily as I can picture a teenage or an adult. It's totally useable.~ Arcadia

I have an uncle Roy too, my mother's older brother. His name isn't short for anything afaik.Roy's the only person I know who's been in jail (a minor charge, presumably, but I don't know exactly what). He's looks like your typical scary biker, but is actually quite nice, albeit a little odd. He's very smart, like most of my family, but has difficulty dealing with people. He was also the only member of my immediate maternal family with whom we had a decent relationship. He's the only one who really cared about me and Jeannie, and Mom.So, yeah, the name Roy's got good connotations for me. It's quite unusual and somewhat dated nowadays too, which gets points from me.Miranda

Roy was my brother in laws name. His full name was Roy Andrew. He died at an early age as did his uncle for whom he was named so my Dh and I will NEVER use that name for it seems to be unlucky in our family since neither Roy lived past 30 years old.

I like Royce with Roy as a nickanme. I don't think it's a "red-neck" name.
