Love it. Also love the nn Si, when the last name starts with a hard consonant.
Silas Marner...blah...sorry...

My niece's 7 y.o. little boy is named Silas. I think it is a nice handsome name.
I love it! its been near the top of my list for quite awhile now. I think it has a nice strong sound to it and I love the nickname Sy.
I think it's cute, but for some reason makes me think of a snail or cartoon character. I also think of Silas Marner. Cyrus is a little better, but I don't love it, either.
It's alright.
This name was once a favorite of mine, and I still like it okay on paper; it seems natty and dynamic, if not even rakish. But I sort of went off of it since I imagined calling someone that every day.. because I made the mistake of noticing that it has a hissing, lisping quality when spoken aloud.

I think that it has a very nice sound to it, but I always picture the albino killer from The Da Vinci Code. But, I do like it.
Silas is nice.
I don't know if I would ever use it, but I do like it.
It's not my style.
