[Facts] Henner
Where does Henner originate from?

Probably from German, saying "the man who takes care of chicken ..."
Sorry for that, but as it is my name ...
I am Alsacien, but my family comes from Germany, 3 hundred years ago.

At a glance, it sounds and looks Germanic. It could be related to Henry, and in particular, the word element heim, meaning "home" in Germanic (c/f the Henry / Heinrich diminutive, Heiner). It may also contain the Germanic element heri ("army") as found in Werner and Rayner.
