Emerson is just so "NO!" for a girl for me. It means "son of
Emery", and
Emery itself is a male name (despite what the tryndeez often say). And besides that,
Emerson is just
so tryndee and "trying too hard"...
On a boy, it's still trendy, but it doesn't strike me as tryndee because it has some Victorian
Era charm to me.
I think simple, 100% (or near to it) masculine, non 3-syllable-or-longer middle names would suit
Emerson as a fn:
Emerson JohnEmerson JacobEmerson CalebEmerson Brock (too harsh?)
Emerson PhilipEmerson MichaelEmerson CasperEmerson VictorEmerson CadeEmerson Ralph (too corny?)
Emerson RayEmerson JayEmerson FrankEmerson JudeEmerson Louis /
LewisEmerson JamesEmerson WilfredEmerson Waldo (too corny?)
Emerson WalterEmerson LaneEmerson Blaine / Blane
Emerson BlakeEmerson BlaiseEmerson BlazeEmerson Paul
