Like Patricia, dislike Emerson on a girl.
This is one of those names I could like for the author, but you just know that half the parents out there, when asked if they named their (blargh) daughters for him, would go, "Emerson who?" It's just too trendy/cutesy.
On a boy, I think it could do justice to honoring him, though.
