Afanasiy Feodor and Zakhar Filipp are five year old twins from Russia. They are identical and their freckled faces are difficult to resist. Afanisiy has Autism and enjoys puzzles. Zakhar is very strong and likes to play sports
Nosizwe Ama is a beautiful ten year old girl from Africa. Her mother died in childbirth and her father passed away due to Malaria. She is very independant and is learning to read and write. She doesn't know English very well, but is eager to learn. She has a pet parrot that she is very attached to named Mudiwa.

Afanasiy "Afan" and Zakhar are in kindergarden, and attend a special program to promote social interaction. Afan has moderate autism and needs a lot of encouragement to interact with others. Zakhar has mild autism, but is showing a definate improvement from the program, especially to control his impulsive activity. Nosizwe has thrown herself into learning English and has even taken an English name, Anna, which she insists everyone use. She wants to be a doctor when she grows up, and is very studious.
