[Opinions] Mavis?
There was a couple on an episode of Buy Me today and the wife was Mavis and I just kept saying it over and over. I think it's so cute! What do you all think?

Love itMavis has a nostalgic, retro-appeal that I can't resist. It's charming. Plus, it has the "mave" (= Maeve) sound in there that I love.

Meh, its okay but I adore Maeve.

It's growing on me.It has that appeal of Maeve to make it just spunky enough, but it also feels dated enough to bring out a little frilliness....If that makes any sense.

I kinda like it. I don't love it but it's a nice alternative to overused Ava.

I like it, maybe I'm wierd but I think it's great name for a BOY.

I think it's sweet and could well make a comeback. It's got the long "ay" sound that's fashionable in names just now - and Maeve always goes down well on the boards, which will (probably?) translate into the statistics.

I know someone with the nameI really dislike her, so I dislike the name. I also think of Mavis Beacon. Also, there is just something about the name that grates on me. It's...I just don't know. It's better than a trendy/misspelt name, but it's not at all something I'd use.

I love it, and also Avis. Both have always appealed to me. :)Array

Oooh, Avis ...I love Avis too. I always wonder why more people aren't thinking of it, always plumping for tiresome Ava.

Probablyb/c Avis reminds them of the car rental company. I know an Avis (she's an older lady) and although I'm a big fan of "old-lady chic," I still have a really hard time picturing a young girl with the name Avis.
