[Facts] Re: Russian/Belorussian Girl's name: a search
Oh, I wasn't aware of that. But then you're from Ukraine and nicknames are a bit different there, aren't they? I know for a fact that Ukrainians tend to use Vita rather than Vika as a nickname for Viktoria. ___________________________________________He that breaks a thing to find out what it is has left the path of wisdom.

well yes, our NNs differ from American for example, but Belorussia, Russia and Ukraine use the same names and NNs so Veta works for Belorussian lady too.As for Vika/Vita, i'd say that all Viktorias that I know go by NN Vika.. Vita is less popular and I knew only one Vita (i was 5 at that time :)) And I'm not sure if she was Viktoria or Vitalina.
And I like Vika much more than Vita, maybe because "Vita" resembles of the masculine name Vitaliy..

Thanks for your advice. Maybe I will go for Emiliya ... that sounds good. I chose this board because I noticed there were some genuine Eastern Europeans on here to ask!
