[Opinions] Sarah, Sarai, Hagar...
These are the newest names from my class "Women in the Bible"
Sarai/Sarah is the wife of Abram/Abraham she is best known for being the barren woman to deliver a child by God's grace. She is a tough, godfearing woman. Hagar is Sarah's Egyptian slave-girl who sleeps with Abraham (at Sarah's request) and bears a child before Sarah.
Sarah has Isaac, Hagar has Ishmael.
So, what do you think of:
Sarah - ok, nms
Sarai - better than Sarah, because it isn't as common.
Hagar - YUCK, that's all
Abraham - eh
Abram - eh
Isaac - like it
Ishmael - nms

I love the name Sarah, and Sarai is average. Hagar is just plain ugly.
I LOVE Sarah.
Sarah - I like this, don't think I'd use it though.
Sarai - I don't really know how to pronounce it but it looks pretty.
Hagar - All I can think of is the Ahaggar/Hoggar mountains in the Sahara.
Abraham - one of my new loves, and the nn Bram is so cute.
Abram - prefer Abraham
Isaac - don't like it.
Ishmael - makes me think of whales and the Sea Captain out of The Simpsons.

The biblical name we used was Sariah (sa-rye-ah: like Mariah but with an "s")
I liked the name Sarah too but wanted something slightly different and this was it for me.

I certain know the story and I like bibical ties with names.
In general though, I really dislike Sarah (too common growing up), Sarai, Hagar, Abraham (Lincoln), Abram (looks unfinished to me) and Ishmael. Isaac is nice though

Sarah: dull as yesterday's dishwater.
Sarai: I would pronounce it like Sa-RAY. Not bad but I would not ever use it.
Hagar: As in Sammy? As in the old comic strip "Hagar the Horrible" about the Viking? (His wife, I believe was named Helga. Why is it I have retained that memory all these years?)
Abraham, Abram: Can't see a modern man being named Abraham, it's past its time. Also had a ditzy teacher named Mrs. Abrams once.
Iaac: Would never use it but it's all right.
\
Ishmael: Call me Ishmael. That's all its good for.
And it was so nice of Sarah to give her maid to her husband, then throw her and the son that resulted out in the desert when Hagar's having a son was exactly what Sarah had intended to happen.

haha
Yeah I thought the same thing!!! Sarah has an attitude. I can't believe she made her slave sleep with her husband and then pucnished her because everything went according to her own plans...and she blamed Abraham too!
