I am really interested in finding out the origin and meaning behind the name of Bowen. I know it is in some of the baby naming books but for the life of me I cannot find it in any of mine. Thank you in advance.

Bowen was originally a Welsh surname meaning "son of Owen " (from Welsh Ap Owen)

Thanks a lot Mike . I also seem to remember a dragon movie in which the hero's name was Bowen. Thanks again for the info.
