I'm wondering if anyone in this world of etymology can give me any feedback on the Kabalarians. I'm a Canadian, have lived with a name that just feels wrong. I go by so many variations at different times and places in my life. I'm steps away from giving the Kabalarians my $180 for a "balanced" name (surname and proper), but discovered some troubling history about the group. No one's perfect, and every group has it's bad apples, but most troubling was a blogger called Brian recounting his unhappy childhood while his family was deeply involved with the Kabalarians in Vancouver. Any personal experiences or stories to tell?
