[Opinions] Ray
Ok so I don't like Raymond or Rayner. I just like Ray. I like it's simple versatility. It seems like an "everyday man" kind of name, and I like that.Do you think Ray is acceptable on it's own and what is your opinion or the name? Oh and I mean for a boy (though I do think Rae for a girl is rather cute but not my style besides it's my niece's middle name). Or is there any other names where Ray could be considered a logical nickname? Thanks,Jamie

I love Rae for a girl, hate it for a boy. Sorry :)

I think it would be perfectly fine all by itself. I don't care very much for it, but it's fine.

I love Ray; it's my all-time favourite name. I will be using either Ray or Rae as a middle name for one of my future children, and I might also use it as a nickname (for Horatio). It stands alone perfectly well, though.Array

I think Ray is perfectly acceptable as a fn on its own. That being said, I don't like it personally and I prefer it as a nn for Raymond.

I like it (and Rae). It is nice and to the point and stong/sweet.I think it is acceptable on its own, but it is a great NN, and I think you could get creative for the FN.Copy/pasting sometimes cuts off the asterisks, so I won't put the address here, but if you search on the main page with *ra*, you'll get every name in the database with the letters RA in it. (I'd do Ra* and *ra*), and while not all would work, a lot would, so you never know.I kind of like Rainier (which in my mind is prn differently than Rayner for some reason, more like the -NEAR sound then the -NER sound) or Ramses (secretly ADORE Ramses, actually). That all being said, though, I don't think it needs one.
