Help[Facts] Angelisa / Angelsea (take note music fans)
Ok, I believe this is a question for the Facts Board but it's as much about music as it is about names. I'm just a little confused. :-/
I used to babysit for a family that adopted a little girl (who is now 10 years old) whom they named Angelisa, pronounced ahn-gah-LEE-sah, but they call her Angel, said just like the word "angel". The father, Bryan, always said her name and the pronunciation came from a Cat Stevens song. It wasn't until a few years ago that I tried searching for the song so I could hear what it sounded like, but to no avail. The closest I could find was a song called "Angelsea"--and unless I'm mistaken, the word or name Angelsea is never actually said in the song. Also, it looks more like ayn-gel-see (ah) or ahn-gahl-see (ah) than the above pronunciation to me. :( So I did a google search of Cat Stevens + Angelisa and came across a random message board where a girl said her name was Angelisa and that her name comes from a Cat Stevens song (btw, I'm positive this was not posted by the little girl that I know as she is mentally and physically disabled). Am I missing something? Does anyone know anything about the possible Cat Stevens connection to the name Angelisa? The pronunciation of Angelsea? The origin behind the possible ahn-gah-LEE-sah pronunciation?
