I must say that I honestly do not like Delaney much. I'm not a fan of surnames as names unless 1) it happens to be a surname from your or your partner's family tree or 2) the name holds a special meaning for you, such as it's the name of your favourite poet/musician/character from a book, etc... If you're looking for names that aren't common and probably won't be (because Delaney is rather popular here, being in the top twenty), there are plenty of classic female names that fit that criteria.

On the positive side, Delaney Erin has a good cadence and good flow.

For boys, I would suggest using the middle name Aaron (because it sounds similar to Erin) or use the Gaelic name for Ireland, Eire (since Erin is considered the poetic name for Ireland).
