You've adopted a son and a daughter!
Nick and Ellie are a sweet sibling pair from Russia. Ellie is fourteen and Nick is eleven. They both have brown hair and green eyes.
Our family has grown by two more, though this time, we chose to adopt two beautiful children from Russia. Elisabeth and Nicholas, whom we call Ellie and Nick, are such sweet children who have taken wonderfully to living in our home. They both have brown hair and green eyes. We gave them their middle names, Rachel and Ryan, for my sister and brother.
John and I decided that adoption was the way to go this time around after our friends adopted an 8-year-old girl and her 6-year-old brother from Russia. We heard stories of children living in orphanages, and immediately, they tugged on our hearts. We thought it'd be wonderful to give a child a permanent home and our own children another sibling. We knew immediately, though, when we saw Ellie and Nick that we couldn't separate them. They were both so close and so sweet tha we had to keep them together and bring them both home.
Ellie is a beautiful young lady who is rather quiet and loves to read. She's learning English rapidly and loves school. She's decided that she wants to be a teacher when she grows up, and has already taken on her first student...her little sister, Ariella. And yes, Ellie does consider Ariella to be her little sister. They absolutely adore each other, and Ellie is wonderful with both her and the boys. She can sit for hours and read books to Ariella, who loves to listen and learn. She's even beginning to pick up on some Russian and loves to show off her talent to everyone! :-)
Nick is a handsome young boy, who like his sister, is rather quiet. They've both come out of their shells immensely, though. Nick is also quickly learning English and enjoys school. He's very athletic and especially likes recess-time. Of the two, he's the more outgoing and has made a considerable amount of friends. Travis and Trevor adore him and love to follow him around. Nick doesn't mind too much, yet, but we're wondering how much longer that's going to last :-)
Ariella is in preschool and loves gymnastics and figure skating. She's a sweet little girl who enjoys playing with her dolls and stuffed animals. She's a great big sister to the boys and is still known for her hugs and kisses.
Travis and Trevor are two and all over the place. They love to run around and play with each other. Travis is the more outgoing of the two, while Trevor is more content to play quietly. They're both obsessed with cars and trucks right now and have an entire collection of Hot Wheels.
Grandma and Grandpa, John's parents, are still living with us...thankfully! Things can get pretty hectic around here, but we're all more than content. The kids love spending time with their grandparents and even Ellie and Nick adore their time with them. They've been fantastic with the kids and have taken Ellie and Nick in as if they were their own.
Although the house is getting a little more cramped with five children and four adults, for the moment, we're fine. Perhaps in a couple of years we'll reconsider. And there you have our family :-) Thankfully the kids get along well (most of the time) and aren't too much trouble. John and I are definitely more than happy to be where we are in life.
