Help[Opinions] Jane?
I was just watching some Jane Eyre clips and I was wondering what you think of the name. I know people who feel it is "plain Jane" but I think it is lovely, especially amongst trendy names of today. I also love the literary connections.
Do you prefer Jane as a fn or mn?
Do you think Jane Elizabeth Jane Catherine and Jane Charlotte are too 'boring'? Jane Juliet too rhymey? Emily-Jane too...Emily-ish? lol

I love it with the nn Janey (this spelling only, please, cute as Janie Gibbs of Harriet the Spy is). Prefer it as a first name, because there aren't enough out there right now, though it's fine as a middle name, too. I love how Jane can be stately as a queen (and has been, even), but she can also be indie, beat, or just plain old alternative at the same time. Jane's a chameleon name--as comfortable in a letterjacket as in a pair of Buddy Holly glasses. Maybe both at the same time. ;)
I'm not into any of those combos, myself. My favourite of all time is Jane Aida (eye-EE-dah), and I'd love to meet a small:

Also, Rosamund Pike...
Played Jane in Pride and Prejudice 2005. So there is a connection but not obvious unless you're a fan. Wow, I really can't thank you enough for this combo :D

I love it.
And it was precisely Jane Eyre that led me to think of it not as "plain Jane," but as "still waters run deep" Jane. Then the infant on Thirty-Something was nn'd Janie and that sealed the deal for me. Plus, I'm a history buff and it makes me think of Tudor England and Queen Jane (Seymour) and Lady Jane Grey.
In a world of Madysins, Chelsees, and K8lyns, Jane is a breath of fresh air.
Jane Elizabeth -- My favorite combination for Jane. The more Tudor / Elizabethan references the better.
Jane Catherine -- Again, queens of England make lovely combo-partners.
Jane Charlotte -- Ah, now you're transporting me into Victorian England and the world of the Brontes. Just as nice. This is a very soft and soothing combination. Another thumbs up.
Emily Jane -- More romance on the Yorkshire moors. This is another stellar combination. More spunky than Jane Charlotte, but just as nice. You'll have to put them in a hat and pick one randomly. Jane Emily works well too. See what I mean?

I think Jane is very nice. It's one of my aunt's names, and is on a lot of other middle aged women today, but I think it would be very refreshing on a baby :)
I think it's kind of boring as a middle name, but it's still nice. I definitely prefer it as a first name. Jane Catherine is lovely; I don't think it's too boring.
Btw, I also like Janelle.
