i'm familiar with the origins of my last name to an extent, but i was hoping to gather some clarification.
i know the last name "Acuña" is spanish, and in the spanish language the verb "acuñar" means "to mint coins."
i was wondering if anyone knew anything on a further background and if it's fair to say that the entymology behind that name was in the same way as "Farmer" or "Smith" in that the name dictated a heritage of what the nameholder's profession was. thank you!
