so I know what Camelot is, but does anyone know the origin of the word Camelot, meanings?thx!

There's the River Camel in Cornwall, which has many Arthurian associations, and there was also Camulodunum in Essex which is now, I think, Colchester ... in both cases these are very ancient names, maybe Celtic if we're lucky, and the meaning might well be lost. Or it might be one of those doublets: Let's pretend that in my language the word for river is gloob. You come in as a conqueror and point to the local river, asking me what it is. I say "Gloob", and you think I've given you a name instead of a word and start calling it the River Gloob. Works for the Don and the Avon ...I don't know if Camelot has the same origins as these two words, but I wouldn't be surprised. And a geographical dictionary might be a good place to look, if you've got access to one.
