Hi
Donna ,
I think you should consider the names
Peter and
Wendy . None of the names as much as feature on the list of the 100 most popular names in the US anno 2000. On the list of the 1000 most popular names in the US anno 2000
Peter still does not appear while the name
Wendy only hold place number 319!
So as you can see both are "neglected" names which need to be used more.
Peter means rock and
Jesus even makes a word play out of it even though that can best be appreciated in Greek. In greek you can make a word play with
Peter and rock because they sound very similar (Petros,
Petra )
"And I say also unto thee, That thou art
Peter , and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
(
Matt 16, 18)
Wendy was, as far as I remember, a name invented by
J.M . Barrie himself or rather he brought it to public knowledge. It was truly invented by a the daughter of one of his friends. The girl used to call Barrie for her friendy, yet the way she pronounced it it sounded almost like the word "
Wendy ".
