Well, they are definitely pet-like names, and very popular in the US for both cats and dogs.
If I had to name a cow I'd probably name her Marge or Clarabelle or else something silly like Jamocha or Dairy Queen.
Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. That way, when you criticize him, you're a mile away and you have his shoes!
