Alex and Suzanne are going on their first holiday, a cruise that will take them along the south of France and the Mediterranean coast of Italy, allowing the chance to relive old memories and make new ones. They are very excited to see the world now that the option is open to them.
Nervetti’s has reopened its doors with Antonia at the helm and by her side Lucas, who has decided that taking up the family business is an easy way to avoid school and the rat race of job interviews. Sarah has gone to California and supports herself through a series of temporary jobs, prioritising her freedom over steady pay, although she admits herself that might change as she gets older. Sandro has not made it so far yet. He is studying filmmaking in Boston and is part of a close knit group of fellow artists, who are very useful for acting as crew for his student projects. He has decided to go by Elliott Wolf professionally as it sounds “cool”. As for Lilah, she spends a lot of time with her cousin Iris, who looks up to her and is willing to play all the games of chess and card games required.
Jack has joined his school’s debate society and has started attending climate demonstrations, something for which he will miss days of school. His parents are mildly concerned by his one track mind, but Alex is of course bursting with pride for his grandson and encourages him all the way. Colette still boxes regularly and has added skateboarding to her list of hobbies. Iris continues to be a keen gardener and has also discovered a love for card games under the tutelage of her cousin Lilah. Giada has fallen in love with acting after being cast as the narrator in her school nativity play last year and is now fixated with getting on the stage, although she is less keen on the concept of rehearsals.
Rosalie and Marta have moved back into their own apartment (albeit a different one) along with Marco and their new daughter. Marco is overjoyed to be a big brother and proudly walked his sister to school on her first day, encouraging everyone to admire her. Although they are quite different personalities, with Marco being quieter and preferring video games to his sister’s vast play-pretend worlds, the two get along well. Rosalie and Marta see their happy family as complete.
Claude and Daphne have also completed their family after deciding that Ben should have a sibling, and were pleased to end up with one of each. Claude has returned to work in aviation engineering, although his new post required the family to relocate to Florida. His mother, who had inherited her grandparents’ house after the death of her mother, was willing to provide them with accommodation in their new home. Daphne has settled into full-time work, somewhat disappointing herself, but having regular hours and regular money is admittedly pleasant. Living on the coast has given Ben a love for watersports and he is now part of a club, spending his Saturdays on the water. His sister, by contrast, hates the water and is much happier playing on the beach.
Marie’s family are closer than ever. Marvin has adopted Rafael, who adores him and his little sister and brother. He received a metal detector for his birthday and is determined to find buried treasure. Portia is good friends with her cousin Giada, only three months her junior, and they take turns sleeping over every few weeks. She is fascinated by her grandmother’s boutique and has decided she wants to be a wedding planner. The youngest member of the family is going through his dinosaur phase and would wear his T-Rex onesie at all times if he was allowed.
