[Opinions] Yivhen
Opinions on the name Yivhen? Variants are Yivzhen and Yuhyn. Yivhen is the Ukrainian folk (old/archaic) form of Yevhen (in Russian: Yevgeniy, in English: Eugene). The female version is Yivha (modern: Yevheniya). What's your opinion on this name and the variants?
Personally I like Yivhen but I wouldn't use it on a person because we don't use it anymore. I also like Yevhen and Yevgeniy (as well as Yevheniy). Yivzhen is pretty good too. I don't like Yuhyn or Eugene, though. For the girls names, I like Yivha and Yevheniya (and Russian Yevgeniya).

I like Eugene.
I don't like Eugene at all, but ukrainian and russian versions you presented speak to me more.
I like Yivhen on the same level as Yevhen and Yevheniy, but I don't remember what rating I did before... 4stars? 4-4.5 stars I guess
as for female version - Yevheniya>Yevgeniya>Eugenia>Yivha just because I can't get rid of "Yeeewhaaaw" cowboy sound in my head...
besdies my brain being silly, it sounds like cute diminutive for Yevheniya, I would get used to it if I met somebody named that.
Why not break up from today norm and use archaic version? Sometimes vintage comebacks are cool :D or will it then sound too much like grandpa's name?

The name Yivhen is so old, that it outdates being grandpa's name
There are still some people with the name but it's not very many (probably less than I probably wouldn't use it on a real person because every Ukrainian would just think it's Yevhen with a typo or misspelled. Though, it would be good for a character!
