Most of the bearers in Russia according to forebears, are in the Altay Kray. The rest are mostly in the Caucasian and Turkic regions of Russia (Dagestan, Tatarstan, Chechnya, Mordovia, Crimea, etc). Generally if you see this, it's not a Russian name and is just used by ethnic minorities in Russia.
The Russian Wiktionary doesn't say it's a a Russian name, just that it's a name.
