[Opinions] Making something new!
I'm making a story and I want to know what y'all think of the main group's names!Tracy Wood
Ambrosia Prasad
Benji Tenzin
Mariela Flores
Janelle Laurel

Replies

I like Mariela and Laurel.
I like the names Mariela and Janelle. I'm not a fan of Ambrosia, it reminds me of food. Tracy is very plain and boring. I would prefer Benson, Benton, or Benjamin over Benji.

Tracy Wood- kind of boring and lackluster. I think if you lengthen the surname. it would sound better. Tracy Woodville, Tracy Woodward or Tracy Woodbrook.Ambrosia Prasad -With a Greek first name and Indian-Sanskrit, I'm not sure about the nationality of this character. Is she multi-cultural?Benji Tenzin - I don't like the "Ben-Ten" sound of this combo. Again, Tenzin is a Tibetan Buddhist name so where does Benji come from?Mariela Flores - I think this is the best character name. It flows well and both names are clearly Hispanic.Janelle Laurel - too many l's in the combo. Jane Laurel, Jeanette Laurel, Janet Laurel or Janice Laurel would flow better.
Thank you for the comment! I would like to answer the questions you've asked, but do note I will take your ideas into consideration.About Ambrosia and Benji, they're both trans, therefore they've chosen their first names. Neither Ambrosia or Benji are mixed, though I will consider the idea.
Benji's surname will likely be changed, I found a few other Bhutanese surnames I think suit him a bit more.
Though, for Tracy, the intention was to keep their name plain. The surname "Wood" was specifically chosen because it's apparently a common Romani surname and they're Romani, but I kept the name short because it reminds me of the protagonist from an inspiration for the project, Jonathan "Jon" Sims. Like Jon, I doubt they'll be referred to by their name often.
I'll definitely lessen the amount of L's in Janelle's name, though. I failed to consider that lol.
Normally the names of characters help me understand one of the following:The genre (fantasy, science fiction etc)
The setting (country and time period)These names do neither of those so I'm not sure how to comment on them. Janelle Laurel bothers me as it rhymes.
