[Opinions] My Boys Short List from High School
Nowadays, I tend to alternate between a few different boys' combos as my top choices, but back in school I was hellbent on these five choices, specifically, in that birth order. Cultural context is I was stanchly conservative Christian at the time, and it shows. What do you think of High school me's ideas? I might do another post later on the top 5 girl ideas later but I'm not for sure since there isn't as much difference from present day tastes. WDYT? Leo Joseph
Edward Hezekiah (I was a big King Hezekiah fan)
Tristan Matthew
Wesley Elias
Milo Roman Nowadays: I prefer Edmund to Edward, Milo with Roman both looks and sounds awkward to me, Wesley I still like but it isn't a favorite anymore, Hezekiah is "too much" nowPlease rate my "Names I would Use" list & "Backup Favorites" list. Feel free to rate some of my other lists too if you have the time.

Leo
Joseph: The long o sounds right next to each other sound silly to me. I never liked Leo, it makes me think of a goofy kid who accidentally blows things up or falls down stairs or spills stuff all over himself. Kind of hapless. Joseph is all right, but if I wanted the nn Joe I'd use Josiah.
Edward
Hezekiah: Edward is okay, if only to get the warm, friendly nns Eddie or Ted. Hezekiah sounds vaguely creepy.
(I was a big
Tristan
Matthew: Never liked Matthew, Tristan is okay but when I was first hearing it I misheard it as Kristen. The combo is all right.
Wesley
Elias: What a mouthful. Wesley is kind of dorky, but harmless. Not as ridiculously hapless as Leo. Elias is not my favorite Eli name, that would be Elijah.
Milo
Roman: Both names sound like somewhat pretentious cat names. Together the combo sounds like a brand name, like for wine or a sport car or something. Miles is much nicer than Milo.

Leo Joseph is actually directly what my maternal grandfather's name was 🤣
I like:
Leo Joseph (although I'd want to make Leo short for Leonardo or something. Joseph is just there, I never think about it but I don't dislike it.)
Tristan Matthew - Nice combo, I prefer Matteo to avoid the "ew" sound but it's still good as is
Wesley Elias - I'd prefer Elias Wesley but it's good either way Okay:
Milo Roman - Sound-wise it's fine, but these two names make me picture complete opposite people. Roman wants to shove Milo in a locker.Nope:
Edward Hezekiah - This one seems pretentious all around. I agree that Edmund is better than Edward.
These days I would prefer Leo short for Leonardo as well. I preferred Leo Joseph when I was in high school because it was directly what my maternal grandfather's name was.
Leo Joseph is nice
Edward Hezekiah is ok, Hezekiah as a mn is fine
Tristan Matthew is nice
Wesley Elias is nice
I don't like Milo or Roman
I also liked Hezekiah when I was in high school. I still think it's kinda nice. The overlap with Kai makes it accessible.I don't think Tristan or Milo are particularly conservative, unless it's artsy-adventurous-conservative. Tristan sounds nice but reminds me of the similar word meaning "sad", and Milo seems like a cat name. I prefer Myles.I like Leo and Joseph ok but not really the combo. Leo seems classic/trendy, and Joseph is reliable. Edward's so staid; I never liked it. I never liked Wesley either although Wes by itself is nice enough. I find Matthew really dull but also associate 90s/00s nostalgia so am slightly fond of its dullness.I hate Roman.I think Elias is my fav of the group. It's like the perfect blend of the rest.ETA: my fav of the combos is Tristan Matthew, the middle child. And Leo does seem like an older brother name somehow.

Ohh, it's like he-ze-Kai-a. I was pronouncing it he-zee-ki-a, like Ezekiel.
Yeah, same type of thing as Jeremiah, Zechariah, etc.
(speaking in a traditional English context anyway)

Leo Joseph is nice; I prefer the order of Joseph Leo. I like both names separately but prefer Leo.
Edward Hezekiah is decent. I wouldn't use Hezekiah because it somehow doesn't sound like a real name, but it goes well with Edward. I do like Edward on its own.
Tristan Matthew is decent. I really like Tristan. Matthew is a good name. Matthew Tristan would have been good as well.
I don't like Wesley Elias. I don't like either name or how they sound together, but I do prefer Elias. I would have used Elijah Wesley or Wesley Elijah.
Milo Roman is okay. I like both names, but I don't think they suit each other.
Leo Joseph was my grandpa's name
My uncle and cousin were named Joseph Leo
Agree with some of your points. I liked Milo James too but Milo Roman was first choice. I can't remember why though.
