Few animals are as crucial to humankind’s success as horses. Horses were key in the best and worst of history. From the rise of empires to the fall of kingdoms, horses have been around to work as our partners, companions, means of survival and, of course, our transportation. For roughly 6,000 years, these animals have been by our side. Because of the importance they hold in our history, it should come as no surprise that horses have been immortalised in many different forms of art.
