I like it only as a middle name

It’s awful! It’s actually my mums middle name and she has always hated it!

I love Phyllis. It feels little harsher to me than some of the other vintage names that have come back and I don't think it's visually super appealing. I have always wanted to use it for a cat though.

Still pretty dated! It might be one of those names that doesn't come back. I can see its appeal, but it's not attracting me.
I'm not a fan of the sound, same as with Philip - it reminds me too much of the word fill. Also the spelling of Phyllis seems, I dunno, too biologic?
A Philip can go by Flip and that's kinda cool, but Fliss doesn't seem cool to me.

I prefer Phyllida. I've known two Phyllis people in South Africa, both English-speakers, but it bothers me because it sounds like the Afrikaans word for garbage/rubbish: vullis. It didn't seem to bother them, but I wouldn't use it here. Elsewhere, it's pleasantly vintage.

I would be amazed and delighted to hear about a baby Phyllis. I think it's cute, and definitely an endangered species!

I think it's awful. I've always thought it sounded more like a guy's name.
