[Opinions] Susan and Suze

Growing up, I associated the name Susan with the name Nancy - a baby boomer name, with its first letter repeated internally. Between the two, I found Susan to be much prettier, but still of a similar moment. It's hard for me to see the name used - as a first name, at least - on someone under the age of 45-50 years.
I don't hate it. I kind of like it. But I just think its so associated with a certain demographic and would look odd outside that context.
Susanna / Susannah is simultaneously better, and also infinitely more dated. To my mind, Susan is a 60-70 year old woman; Susanna is a character in the Salem witch trials more than 300 years ago.
Suze is fine as nickname. Sue is very much of the boomer variety.

I like Susanna, and Susan is fine. Suze is awful though.
I prefer Suzanne to worn-out Susan. I knew a Suzanne who longed to be known as Zanne but everyone called her Suze, which she resented.
In the Narnia books, Susan is the name of the pretty sister: in the end she becomes so obsessed with her own looks that she turns her back on Narnia. Of course, people must have found the name lovely or it wouldn't have been such a chart-topper, but it does seem strange now.

I’m not a fan of Susan, and Suze is even worse.
I like Susan with the nickname Suze/Suzy. I like Susanna/Susannah and Suzette even more.
