[Opinions] Joss
My husband and I considered Joseph nn Joss. We nixed it because we're nerds and didn't want people thinking we named our kid after Joss Whedon (and this is before his creepiness was discovered.) Thoughts? I know it can also be a feminine name, Joss Stone being an example I still really like it and I'd consider using it for a pet, but again, Whedon. The poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese. I don't know who Joss Whedon is either. I'm not sure what Joss means. The sound seems fine with me but I have a brother with Ross as his middle name and they are similar. I have a few J names in my family so Joss could be a mixup with a J name and Ross too
I don’t know who that is but I have never heard of Joss as a nickname for Joseph or even a boy name. I think of it as feminine.
I like it, I think it's a good name. I have no idea who Joss Whedon is.
I like Joseph, but not Joss
I tend to think of Whedon and then of “joss stick” which is another name for incense sticks. It’s a pity because Joss would be a cute nickname for Jocelyn.

I once taught a Jocelyn who was never called anything else. A couple of years after she left school, I met her working in a bank, with a gold chain round her neck and Joss in gold letters. I was disappointed!
I have heard of the guy. Joss sticks is all I think of.
I like Joss a lot, and I much prefer it to Joe. I share your concerns about Whedon.
Not really sure about Joss, never heard of Whedon, i prefer nn Joe
Joss Whedon was behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Firefly, among other things.
