[Opinions] Ferdinand
What do you think of this name? At first I didn't care much for it, but now I think it's quite handsome and romantic. What would you use as a nickname? I don't like Ferdie.

I love it! It’s strong and has easily one of the coolest meanings ever.
They’re quite a stretch but I like Ned and Dandy as nicknames.

I love Ferdinand! It’s elegant despite the odds.
Dino would be my nickname of choice. Fern would be cute on a boy!

Love it. One of my faves. It's so quirky.
pretty good.
Perfectly normal in Spanish, but never really acclimatised to English-speaking places. Used sometimes in Afrikaans, as is Fernanda; my guess is that it's a tradition that started when the Netherlands was still governed from Spain.
I thought it was usually Fernando in Spanish.
It is. In Afrikaans, I've only seen Ferdinand.
I think Ferdinand is a good name! It's a shame it's not more common. Fern could be a nickname.
Fern sounds nice as a nickname.
I grew up loving the book Ferdinand so it's hard for me to separate the name from the bull. If I met a human with the name I'd probably feel bad for them.
Oh that's one of the reasons I love the name! I loved that story. Gentle Ferdinand.
