Blaze and
Forest were among the birth names registered in Northern
Ireland during 2023.
The Northern
Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) released the rankings on
Tuesday,
Isla was the most popular girls' name and
Noah was most common for boys.
Aurora and
Raya were among the girls names that climbed the rankings most, while
Donnacha and
Albie moved up for boys.
The most popular names registered during 2022 were
Grace and
James.
While not at the top spot for 2023 both names remain in the top 10.

Luca.
The recording of first name choices in Northern
Ireland began 26 years in 1997 and since then many names have fallen in and out of fashion.
The gold medal position went to
Chloe in 1997 with 361 babies named that.
And,
Matthew was 1997's number one boys' name with 410 babies registered with it as their first name.
