[Opinions] Can I use Stacy as my character name?
Replies
Use the name. There's no issue.
I know the Stacy memes but I don’t think it will make a difference.
My name is Stacey and I have no idea what this meme is.
The only Stacy meme I know of is "Stacy's mom" references.
I think the character can be Stacy depending on age and personality. I think Stacy comes off as a somewhat young adult (mostly associated with the 1980's), someone who was popular in high school, maybe a bit mean/bitchy, bleached hair, energetic in a way that's halfway between bubbly and aggressive. A similar name is Tracey if you have a reason to avoid Stacy but want the same vibe.

Just use it. Take responsibility for your own writing. You know more about the character than we ever could.
Similar to other responses here, I also never heard of the Stacy meme before. If you like the name and feel that it fits your character, go ahead and use it.
Hello! I live under a rock when it comes to the latest trends, so maybe I'm an unreliable source...however, I have never heard of the internet meme called Stacy. It seems like it's my generation who creates these memes; I have never heard anyone call somebody "a Stacy" (as opposed to "Karen"...which, honestly hasn't been used very much at my college). Anyways, I think that it's a wonderful choice, so don't let the meme ruin it for you! I also feel that the associations aren't very strong, given my experiences.
I had no idea what you meant.
Never heard of the meme
*sigh* The Internet meme of Stacy isn't even as well-known as the Karen meme.
Stacy isn't in fashion anymore, but it was very popular in its time (seventies and eighties( and there are a ton of other associations someone might have with Stacy, if they had any particular associations at all.

Never heard of the meme, and the name Stacy is pretty common so I don't think a meme could overshadow it as a name. I say go ahead!
