I like Jane a lot. It's bright, sweet, fresh, and quaint, not plain at all! It's a periwinkle sort of colour for me, a gentle purple-blue.
It's not common where I live - I don't think I've met a single one in my life. I honestly don't know if the "plain Jane" thing would be an issue for a Jane these days. "Shrinking Violet" is another saying and it doesn't seem to hurt Violet's rising popularity at all.
